“Tastes like fall in a cup”, a direct quote from our staff & friends at Pondicheri who were here during this smoothie's testing! The fresh turmeric is an anti-inflammatory while the soaked almonds are easier to digest than raw almonds (and makes it easier to peel the skins off!).
makes ~1.5 cups
- Soak the almonds in ¼ cup of hot water for 10 minutes. Peel and discard the skin, save the soaking water. Peel the turmeric and slice.
- In a blender combine the turmeric, almonds, bananas, cinnamon, salt, reserved water & 1 cup of liquid. Blend until smooth.
ideas / variations
- Top with fresh fruit, jam, syrup or nut butter!
- Use frozen bananas to get a colder, thicker smoothie.
