Paneer is the only cheese India can lay claim to – it is a simple, un-ripened farmers cheese, except that it has no rennet (an enzyme that curdles casein in milk), only vinegar. You can bake it like a brie & serve with crackers or crusty bread or even make it into a spread*!

Preheat the oven to 350F. Rub oil on paneer & bake for 20-30 minutes on a baking sheet until it starts to lightly brown. Remove from oven & let sit for 5-10 minutes before serving.
*if you are looking to make the paneer a spread, no need to bake it. Smear on crusty bread & sprinkle with desired toppings.
